We will be leaving the school at 12:15 and plan to be back around 2:30. The scavenger hunt will be in groups, so I will need a few chaperons to go along with us. If you would like to be in charge of a group, please let me know! For more information on Geocaching, visit www.geocaching.com.
We’ll be taking our first field trip next Friday, September 26! We’ll be going to the Environmental Lab to go on a scavenger hunt! Part of the hunt will involve some geocaching (to practice using latitude and longitude), so it should be a lot of fun! We’ll be using the GPS on our iPads, but if you have a GPS unit (preferably the outdoor kind, not the car kind) from home that you’d like to bring, that would be great too - backups are always nice when dealing with technology!

Sorry about not having these links up earlier (thanks Elise!) I switched websites this summer, and the link did not make the transition! All of the links are found on our class Pearltrees, which are shown below. If you find a great folktale online that isn't listed here, you are free to use that as well. 2014-2015 3rd Grade Supply List

What do you think of the new layout? I have been using Weebly quite a bit in my master's work and it is SO much easier than the web designer I was using before. There is still a lot that I need to do, but I shouldn't have a problem getting everything up and running before the school year starts. If you have ideas for things you would like to see on the site, please let me know - this is meant to make YOUR life easier!
My summer is going to be pretty busy. I'm currently taking my last two graduate classes, so by the time school starts I will have my master's degree in educational technology from Michigan State University! Aside from taking classes, I'm also going to be attending my 2nd DEN Summer Institute in Nashville in July. Mr. Erickson and Peach (my little one - I like to keep her name offline as much as possible) will be going with me, so I'm really looking forward to getting away for a little while. Other than that, I plan to spend my time reading, gardening, swimming, and enjoying my family. If you have any questions before school starts, don't hesitate to shoot me an email ([email protected]). I check it obsessively, so chances are I will probably email you back within a few hours. Anyway, I hope you all have a fabulous summer and I can't wait to be back in third grade this fall! |
